Wren Churches

Sir Christopher Wren is best known as the architect of St Paul's Cathedral but he was also responsible for building over 50 churches to replace those burnt down by the Great Fire of London in 1666. Unfortunately over half of those were destroyed during the second world war but this tour takes you around a number of those which remain intact and also to the sites of some of those which are now lost.

Find out why a grid iron adorns the tower of St Lawrence Jewry; hear how one Wren church has ended up thousands of miles from home and see the steeple immortalised in English 'Panto' and featured in a nursery song.
